Radio Show Host Could Lose License匱o Drive
A Massachusetts radio host, Michael Graham of station WTKK is facing a court arraignment this month, after being arrested for driving with a revoked license. His punishment may involved the permanent loss of his driver's license.
Graham was pulled over by local policies at 5:30 AM on Friday the 13th, after allegedly driving through a red light on Route 9 in Framingham, MA, on his way to work. The officer in question handcuffed Graham and hauled him into the police station after learning that Graham was driving with a revoked license.
In addition to the revoked license issue, Graham, age 45, who is an op-ed columnist for the Boston Herald when not on the air, was charged with failing to stop for a red light. His arraignment is today, Tuesday, February 17th.
Says Graham: "I've got to go to a judge, thanks to Massachusetts, and explain to him that I didn't know my driver's license was revoked and they never told me it was revoked." Why the revocation? Because of insurance issues in the state of Virginia, authorities say.
A spokesperson for the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles said that Graham was sent a letter about his license revocation on October 9th, giving him a full month to address the issue. Records show no response was filed.
About the insurance issue, Graham says that registry officials in Virginia informed him that they needed proof of car insurance, which he asked his insurer to provide, but, according to Graham, "somehow the ball got dropped."
